Sally Schworm-MacKay, a beacon of kindness and warmth, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, in Weymouth, MA, at the age of 79. Born on September 12, 1945, in New Braintree, MA, Sally was the cherished daughter of the late Evelyn Marie (Fournier) and Calvin O. MacKay. Her life was a tapestry of love, service, and joy that touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.
Sally's journey through life was shared with her beloved wife, Linda Schworm-MacKay, whose companionship and love provided a foundation of happiness and support. She was a loving sister to Frances MacKay of Kansas and a treasured aunt to Michael MacKay of Palmer, Steven MacKay and his fiancée Jamie of Millis, Scott MacKay of Millis, and Kelly Chouinard and her husband Matt of Ashland. She was predeceased by her siblings Anzel, Ronald, Lorna L., and Clarence “Keo” MacKay, mother-in-law, Marjorie R Schworm, her half brother Kenneth MacKay and and brother-in-law, Kenneth E. Schworm.
Sally's professional life was marked by a profound commitment to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the veteran hospitals in Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury. Her dedication to the well-being of veterans was a testament to her selfless nature and her deep sense of patriotism and community service.
Outside of her work, Sally's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was tending to her garden, walking her beloved corgi pups, or engaging in her many crafts. Sally's hands were rarely still, as she was always sewing, cooking, baking, or creating elaborate birthday cakes for those she loved. Her passion for photography captured countless memories, each a snapshot of the love she spread so freely.
Sally's presence was a comfort to many, as she was always ready to lend an ear, share a story, or offer her time to those in need. Her kindness was a guiding light, and her friendly demeanor made her a friend to all. A true caretaker by nature, Sally's legacy is one of compassion and generosity.
Those who knew Sally will remember her as a loving and kind soul, a friend who was quick to smile and always ready to help.
