Ryan Patrick McMahon

Ryan Patrick McMahon, of Plymouth, formerly of Quincy, died unexpectedly, following a brief illness on Friday, February 7, 2025. He was 42.

Ryan was born in Quincy on February 24, 1982. He was raised in West Quincy, attended local schools and graduated from Quincy High School. His career was in the automotive industry. Most recently, he was working as the Service Department Director for Ocean Honda in Hanover. He loved his work and the relationships he built throughout the years. He was known for his infectious kindness and his remarkable ability to make others feel seen and valued.

Ryan's passion for cars was well-known. As a young boy, he learned about colors through his treasured Matchbox cars, sparking a lifelong love of automobiles. His prized possession was a personalized Hellcat, a stunning purple vehicle that was custom-made for him and made him the second person in Massachusetts to own such a rare car. A true enthusiast, Ryan's appreciation for fast cars was matched only by his great skill as a navigator, a talent he showed off even as a young child in the back seat of his family’s car.

With an exceptional mind, Ryan was a gifted typist—fast, accurate, and efficient—skills that would come in handy in various parts of his life. He also had a love for chess and was a formidable player, often challenging friends and family to a game with a quiet confidence that reflected his sharp intellect.

Above all, Ryan had the biggest heart. He was the epitome of kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. His generosity and warmth left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Ryan's family and friends will remember him not only for his love of cars and his quick wit but for the unwavering compassion and loyalty he showed to those he held dear.

Ryan was the cherished son of Patrick D. and Laurette M. (Cordeau) McMahon of Plymouth. He was the beloved father of Ryan Owen McMahon and his mother Kristen Lavery of Quincy. Ryan was the loving nephew of Kathleen Kurbel and her husband Robert of New Hampshire, Mary Sharaffa and her husband David of Walpole, Donna McMahon of Quincy, Jane Edmisten and her late husband Roger of North Carolina. He is also survived by his cousin Lisa Nugent and her husband Tom of Hanson, John Tower Jr. of Lynn, and many extended family members and friends.
