Ruth E. Wood

Wood, Ruth E. (Benoit) of North Weymouth, died June 2, 2024. Ruth grew up in South Boston and was a graduate of St. Brigid High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, camping and taking trips with The Castle Island Association. Ruthie was a hard working woman raising 9 children in addition to numerous jobs. Her selfless love was present every day.  She loved to dance, a ringleader at social gatherings, and engaged in conversation with anyone. Her strength was a beacon of light to the many lives she touched.

Beloved wife to the late James J. Duran and Paul Wood. Loving mother of James J. Duran, Jr. (Paula) of Weymouth, Susan Clifton (Rick) of South Carolina, Patricia Duran of Quincy, Betsy Rhode (Vinny) of Quincy, Jeanne Duran (Philip) of Montana, William Duran (Mary) of Weymouth, Cindy Nault (Jim) of Weymouth, Barbara Duran of Quincy and the late Maureen McDonald. Dear sister of the late Mary Benoit, Jeanne Picard and William Raymond Benoit. Ruth is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandhildren and many nieces and nephews.
