Keating Ruth (Whitley), 89 of Quincy, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2010 after a long illness. A graduate of Quincy High School and Chandler Secretarial School, Ruth proudly served as an Ensign in the SPARS during World War II. She was stationed in New York, Washington DC and West Palm Beach, FL. Ruth Grew up in Quincy on Great Hill in Houghs Neck and moved around the corner from her childhood home when she married her husband Rip. They built a home and a life together with many additions along the way. Ruth will be remembered for her great smile, great sense of humor and positive outlook. Her hobbies included gardening, puzzles, sewing and watching Red Sox games. She also enjoyed her many friends from the United First Parish Church in Quincy and her lifelong friends in Houghs Neck. Wife of the late Ripley M. Keating, she is survived by three daughters, Jane Molloy of Quincy, Joan Curtis and her husband Dave of Lakeville, Ellie King and her husband Charlie of Milton. Five grandsons, Chip King, Tom King, Chris Molloy, Brendan Molloy, Scott Molloy, One granddaughter, Delynn Speleos and a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Louise Molloy. Ruth is also survived by her brother, Roger S. Whitley and his wife Katherine and their two daughters Sarah and Alison. Services will be private.
