Rugg, Ruth M. (FitzGerald) of Quincy, passed away February 19, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Warren W. Rugg. Devoted mother of Paul Rugg and his wife Barbie of Marshfield, Philip Rugg and his wife Gloria of Quincy, Peter Rugg and his companion Donna of Middleboro, Susan and her husband Richard Mullens, Peggy and her husband Daniel Gorman (QFD), all of Quincy and the late Warren W. Rugg, Jr. Loving sister of Miriam Mackenzie of Mansfield, Robert FitzGerald of ME, and the late Henry and Mark FitzGerald, Ann O’Sullivan, and Connie Sances. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Ruth graduated from Mass College of Art. She gave art lessons to children in her home for many years, which included portraits and charcoal drawings. For many years, Ruth helped with her husband’s family Canteen business, though her primary job was her family. Ruth was a faithful communicant and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Quincy. She was also a member of the “Morning Glory’s” and devoted much of her time to the church. Ruth adored her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid animal lover, especially her dog ‘Major’. Ruth’s family would like to thank all the staff at Hancock Park 4 West for their kindness and care. Ruth will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 26 Shed St. Quincy, MA 02169.
