Ruth M. Rooney

Rooney, Ruth M. (Ryan) of Quincy, died November 29, 2014. 

Beloved wife of 63 years to Paul Rooney of Quincy. Loving mother of Paul Rooney and his wife Marty of Rockland, Kevin Rooney of Weymouth, Eileen Richardson and her husband Ricky of Quincy, Kathleen Rooney of Quincy, Kelly Dumont and her husband Joe of Quincy, and the late Michael Rooney. Cherished sister of James and Patty Ryan, both of Squantum, and Charles Ryan of NH. Doting nana of Kyle and Dylan Richardson, Sean, Dawne, and Kevin Rooney and Paul Dumont. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ruth retired from New England Telephone after more than 40 years of service. Her family was the most important to her and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 5-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruth may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
