Ruth E. Rudenauer

Ruth Elizabeth Rudenauer, age 90, of Hingham, MA, passed away on January 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in Boston, the daughter of George Fandel and Elizabeth (Long).

Beloved wife of the late John J. “Jack” Rudenauer. Loving mother of Elizabeth “Lisa” Lyon and husband Peter of NH, Janice Rudenauer of MA, George Rudenauer of NYC, and the late John “Jay” Rudenauer. Sister of Robert Fandel and his wife Betty of MA, and the late George Fandel, Jr. and Anne Casper. Cherished grandmother of Erik Lyon and wife Aida, and Alexander Lyon. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

For over 25 years Ruth worked with her husband Jack, at their real estate business. Ruth was always curious to learn new ideas and expand her wide knowledge of key topics, from technology and politics, to literature and history. Ruth loved participating in many Hingham activities, in particular the Gourmet Group, Hingham Ladies Club, Hingham Catholic Women’s Club, Investments Club, Book Club and, most recently, a cadre of educational and volunteer pursuits at Linden Ponds Senior Center. People who knew Ruth immediately understood her graceful nature and ability to both count and share her many blessings. Ruth truly embodied the best of “the greatest generation”… duty, faith, family, friends and love of her country.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
