Ruth E. Hackett

Ruth E. (Buckley) Hackett of Weymouth passed away at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, MA on January 23, 2016 at age 90.

To those who knew her she was a person of great warmth, character and love of family. Wife of the late Walter F. Hackett Jr., she was predeceased by her parents Ralph J. and Mary C. (Locke) Buckley After being employed by the Edwards Company in So. Weymouth, she worked for many years for the Weymouth Public Schools, serving as the administrative assistant to the Athletic Director. She was an avid reader, and travelled extensively in her younger years, visiting many European countries.

Ruth is survived by her son Walter Hackett and his wife Patricia, daughters Gail Foley and her husband Robert, and Marianne Burns and her husband Daniel. She also leaves sisters Patricia Hackett, Joan Salvaggio and husband Robert, and Noreen Tilley, and a brother Edward Buckley and his wife Carol. Ruth was also predeceased by brother Ralph Buckley and sister Marie Dwyer. Her four grandchildren and five great grandchildren were a great joy to her. Ruth will be sadly missed by her whole family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Square). Relatives and friends will gather in the Funeral Home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
