Ruth E. Fisher

Ruth (Cash) Fisher, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was 97.

Ruth was born in Hingham as one of nine children in, what is now, Wompatuck State Park. Ruth worked hard to provide a loving home, doing much of the work herself, including tiling floors and walls. She worked as a crossing guard for 44 years and part time at the Red Coach Grill. Ruth enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, bingo, gardening and spending time with family. She also enjoyed many friends at the Weymouth Elks, Moose and Veteran Lodges. Ruth spent her final years in the loving care of her grandson Michael Link.

Beloved wife of 59 years to the late William E. Fisher. Together they raised 4 children; William C. Fisher of Marlboro, Susan Fisher of Weymouth, the late Diane Shepard and the late Barbara Morrison. Mother-in-law of John Shepard of Weymouth. Cherished Nana of 8 grandchildren and Grammy to 5 great-grandchildren.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, August 8th from 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).

Burial at a later date in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
