Ruth A. Almeida-Doyle

Ruth A. “Ruthie” (McStravick) Almeida-Doyle,  originally from Dorchester, died unexpectedly on October 8, 2024. The beloved wife of Frank Almeida and the late Bernard Doyle. Loving mother of Charles “Chuckie” Doyle of Dorchester, Michael Doyle and his wife Cindy of Hilton Head, SC and the late Bernard Doyle, Jr. BPD. Cherished Meme to Regan, Ryleigh, Kerri, Peyton, Jillian and Emerson. Sister of Janet Dorn of Brookings, SD and the late James and Joseph McStravick. Ruthie is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Ruthie grew up in Weymouth with her siblings, Janet, Jimmy, and Joe. The four siblings shared a special bond, and even after marriage and children, they remained close. Ruthie raised her boys in Dorchester. Once they were of school age, she decided to go back to work.

Ruthie worked at the Boston Globe for many years. During her time there she created and cherished long lasting friendships even after she retired. After she retired, she spent time in Dorchester, Maine, and New Hampshire with her husband Frank. Frank and Ruth loved spending time together. They loved one another's company and created lasting memories together.

Anyone who knew Ruthie, understood her love of Maine. She spent over half her life on the lake during the summer and fall. She raised her boys on Square Pond. The house was always full of friends and family, with Ruthie right in the middle. Later in life, she purchased a home on Wilson Lake, where she again opened her door to family and friends. She loved sitting on the dock and watching the sunsets. Ruthie made friends easily and kept them for a lifetime. Anyone who met her was immediately greeted by her kindness and inviting nature.

Ruthie's true love was her relationship with each of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with each and every one of them. Meme had her own way of making each of them feel special and loved. She loved when all the kids came to Maine to spend time with her and Frank. She always was constantly bragging to neighbors and friends about her grandkids and their accomplishments.

Ruthie was a remarkable woman. We invite all that can attend to celebrate her life and remember her for who she was.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, October 13th from  3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
