Rudy V. Pompeo

Rudy V. Pompeo, WWII Veteran and Weymouth resident for more than 60 years passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on June 23rd.

Rudy was a Charter Member of the St. Francis Xavier Knights of Columbus, Past President of the Holy Name Society and named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Weymouth Rotary Club. After the war, he started his own construction company with his wife, Shirley, and it grew to become Rudy V. Pompeo, Inc.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Shirley (Crosta) of 67 years, seven children; Ron Pompeo and his wife Cindy, Lisa Schmiemann and her husband Tom, Christine Fitzgerald, Mark Pompeo and Marilyn Monturio and her husband Chuck all of Weymouth. Rudy Pompeo, Jr. and his wife Joanne and Chuck Pompeo and his wife Kelli of Hingham, and his 19 adored grandchildren.  Also survived by his brother Richard Pompeo, his sister, Eunice Ford and many nieces and nephews. Rudy loved to sing. He enjoyed golfing at the Thorney Lea Golf Club, wintering in Naples , Florida and Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.  What he loved most of all were his visits with his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
