Roy H. Anderson

Roy H. Anderson of Weymouth, died December 21, 2014 at the age of 92.

Roy served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the battleship USS North Carolina (BB-55). On leave in Boston, he met Edith Sprague. They were married shortly thereafter after he promised to go dancing with her every Saturday night. Together, they were very active at the VFW. After being discharged from the military, Roy went to work as a mechanic, eventually retiring from the St. Johnsbury Trucking Company. Roy was a true family man with old fashioned values. He adored his wife and sons and passed his work ethic and gentlemanly ways to the next generation. In his younger days, he enjoyed golf and when he was older he enjoyed his time with friends at the South Weymouth K of C.

Husband of the late Edith A. (Sprague). Father of the late Henry, Robert and Paul Anderson. Grandfather of Debra Pucci and her husband Al of Belmont, NH and the late Diane Anderson. Great grandfather of Heather Malek, and Felicia Ruprecht. Close friend of the Sands family, Carol Bresnahan and Kiley Chase.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday 10-11 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in memory of Roy may be made to the N.E. Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
