Rosina Gratta

Rosina Gratta (Politano) of Hull, passed away on April 5, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at home.

She was born in Palermiti, Catanzaro, Italy on March 9, 1933. She was the loving wife of 61 years to Vincent P. Gratta. Mother to Paul & wife Lorraine of Cohasset, Vincent “Jimmy” & wife Claire “Clay” of Hingham, Vito of Hull & late former wife Suzanne, and Anthony & wife Julie of Hingham. Loving grandmother to Vincent, Vanessa & fiancee Christopher, Erica, Alexis, Veronica, Alicia, Alessandra and Isabella. Great grandmother to Ellie. Daughter of the late Vito Politano and Maria Truglia. She was the eldest of nine siblings – sister to the late Felice Politano, Maria Fulciniti, Francesco Politano, Giulia Gratta, Antonio Politano, Vittorio Politano, Candida Barbuto and Malia Della Rocca. Beloved aunto to many nieces and nephews.

Rosina came to America in June of 1954 on the Andrea Doria. She was a seamstress for many years and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Rosina was a people person. Anyone who met her, instantly loved her. She enjoyed winters with Vincent in West Palm Beach. Her kitchen was always open.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
