Rosemary K. Thibodeau

Thibodeau, Rosemary K. (Knoll) of North Weymouth, passed away on May 11, 2021, after a brief illness.

Rosemary lived her entire life in North Weymouth and adored her home by the beach.  She spent a happy childhood summering on the outer Boston Harbor Islands, and she treasured memories of her time as a band member at Weymouth North High School.  Rosemary began working at New England Telephone at the age of 17, rising through the ranks until her retirement as a manager.

Rosemary spent many vacations with her husband and children camping at Sebago Lake. She loved travel, taking trips with family members cross-country and on cruises.  Rosemary was a member of the Senior Center and enjoyed knitting with the Naughty Needlers group.  She was a skilled crafter and jewelry maker.

Rosemary will be remembered for her sweet, generous, and loving nature.  Her main passion in life was her family and spending time with those she loved, especially her daughter Laura and son-in-law Chuck. She will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Lawrence J. Thibodeau Jr.  Loving mother of Laura Jones and her husband Charles of North Weymouth, the late Suzanne Kent, and the late Brian Thibodeau.  Devoted daughter of the late Edmund and Ida Knoll.  Caring sister of Christine Walsh and her late husband William of North Weymouth.  Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews and survived by extended family and dear friends, particularly her lifelong best friend, Joan Merten.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth, at 10:30 AM.  Interment at Old North Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rosemary may be made to American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at cff.org.
