Rosemary Canavan

Canavan, Rosemary “Rose” (McGinness) of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died November 19, 2015. 

Rose was a wonderful, kindhearted woman with a great sense of humor who adored her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed passing time at the beach with her family. An avid reader, she loved a good mystery. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Beloved husband of Paul J. Canavan. Devoted mother of Paul Canavan and his wife Marion of Quincy, Barbara Canavan of Weymouth, Patrick Canavan of Long Beach, CA, John Canavan of Weymouth, and the late Michele Canavan. Loving sister of Eunice Kinneally of South Boston and predeceased by 4 brothers. Cherished grandmother of Kevin, Jason, Patrick, Carmela, Cameron, and Charlotte. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 11 AM Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rose can be made to South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation, Pulmonary Department, 55 Fogg Rd. Weymouth, MA 02190.
