Rosemarie Pauline Monaco-Goolgasian

Rosemarie “Rory” Pauline Monaco-Goolgasian of Scituate, formerly of Cohasset, died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 after a nearly decade-long battle with ovarian cancer. She was 66.

Born in Quincy on March 17, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Mario Joseph and Pauline Angelica (DiTullio) Monaco. Rory was raised in Quincy, attended local schools and graduated from Fontbonne Academy in Milton. She continued her education at St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. After earning her CPCU, Rory owned her own insurance agency alongside her two brothers and served many people in her community.

Known for her kindness, wit, and unassuming generosity, Rory was always quick to share her dazzling smile with everyone, friends and strangers alike. She was a hard worker, avid reader, and beach lover, but she will be most remembered for her unparalleled devotion to her daughter, Marisa. Rory was a paragon of grace and fortitude, qualities that were only heightened throughout her long battle with late-stage cancer. Her conviction to choose love, patience, and laughter even in the face of life’s worst obstacles will live on in all who knew her.

Rory was the beloved wife of Jeffrey H. Goolgasian. The two married on June 5, 1995, in St. John the Baptist Church in Quincy. Together they shared 28 loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Marisa R. Goolgasian of New York City, New York, and the loving sister of Andrea Katz and her husband Michael of Hingham, Anthony Monaco of Plymouth, Stephen Monaco and his wife Cheryl of Pembroke. Rory is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
