Rose A. Murphy

Murphy, Rose A. (Gaudet) of Hanson, formerly of Quincy died July 30, 2024, she was 98. 

The beloved wife of the late John J. Murphy, Sr. Loving mother of Donna Lawson and her late husband Donald of Gardner, Rose Ann Howard and her husband Thomas of Cumberland, RI John J. Murphy, Jr and his wife Kim of Hanson, Robert J. Murphy and his late wife Paula of NC, Karen Dupuis of FL and Paul J. Murphy and his wife Kim of Hanson. Sister of John and Emil Gaudet both of FL and the late Frederick and Joseph Gaudet. Rose is also survived by 15 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  

Rose raised her family in Quincy. She was an active member at St. Agatha’s Parish for many years. Rose enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed plastic canvas. Both she and her late husband John were former members of the Blue Granite stamp club. Rose was also a member of the Holy Apostles Parish Shawl ministry as well as the Sodality of Our Lady in that parish. She enjoyed traveling, especially her cruises and her trips to the casino’s. Her life focus was her family. She dedicated her life to her faith and her family. They were the foundation of all that was truly important to her. Rose will be sadly missed. She leaves a legacy of love with all that knew her. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, August 7th from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on August 8th, Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Agatha’s Church, Milton at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree
