Rose Mae Thompson

Thompson, Rose Mae (Lang), a resident of Hingham for 44 years, died unexpectedly, December 12, 2014, at the age of 89 years. She was the wife of the late John G. Thompson who died in 1982.

Born in Fort Lee, NJ, April 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Lang and late Rose Mae (Simek) Lang.  Rose graduated from Cliffside Park High School in Cliffside Park, NJ. Mrs. Thompson successfully pursued a career in modeling and dancing. She was always known for being very stylish.  She loved taking care of the gardens and landscaping for her Hingham home.  She also was an exercise enthusiast right up until the day she died. Mrs. Thompson loved spending time with her seven children and her nine grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was watching old movies from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and kind and loving ways.

Pre deceased by her husband the late John G. Thompason.  Beloved mother of Judy Thompson and her partner Sarah Little of WI, John “Jack”  Thompson and his partner George Economou of Chelmsford, Richard Thompson of Franklin, Ray Thompson and his wife Sue of Cohasset, Barbara Crowley and her husband Chris of N. Attleborough, Jacqueline “Pookie” Dowding and her husband Michael of Millis and the late Pamela Pilsmaker and her husband Jeff of Boxford. Devoted grandmother of Jen, Amanda, Jon, Sarah, Julia, Corey, Emily, Matthew and Jack.  Great grandmother to Chloe.  Loving godmother of Carol Ann Tarkany of NJ.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 9:00-10:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
