Manganaro, Rose M. (Cogliano) of North Quincy, passed away on May 19, 2011. Former wife of Salvatore Manganaro of Somerville. Cherished mother of Michael Manganaro and his wife Carol of Quincy, Skippy Manganaro and his wife Claire of Halifax, Rick Manganaro and his wife Caroline of Quincy, Mark Manganaro and his wife Kathy of North Attleboro and John Manganaro of Quincy. Sister of the late Laura McGowan. Rose was the devoted grandmother to her 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Born in Cambridge, she grew up in the West End, her childhood was rich with family love and tradition, which would later become the foundation for all that was important to her. Rose worked as a meter maid for the City of Boston for many years. An avid Red Sox fan, she enjoyed playing bingo and loved to crochet. Rose was a fabulous cook. After her retirement from the city, she worked for several families and help raise many children and grandchildren who affectionally still refer to her as their grandmother to this day. The essence of her life was her family. Rose will be remembered as a loving, caring, selfless woman who brought grace and style to the lives she touched, so characteristically of the way she lived her life. She will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy, In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rose may be made to the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway , 14th Floor, New York, New York 10004 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA.
