Dias, Rosanna M. (Calhoun), recently of Hanson, formerly of Weymouth and Hobe Sound, Florida died September 29, 2021.
Rose grew up in Braintree and started work at The Electro Switch Corporation in Weymouth where she met her life partner Manny. They set off working in the food service industry and developed a successful catering business. They later retired to Hobe Sound, Florida. Quick-witted and quick to laugh, Rose was easy to love and made life-long friendships in her hometowns of Braintree, Weymouth and Hobe Sound. She was known for her fierce loyalty and devotion to her family and most enjoyed spending time with those she loved. Rose will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Beloved wife of 52 years of the late Manuel Dias. Loving mother of Renée Rezendes and her husband Jesse of Carver, John Dias and his partner Michael Cumpsty of New Jersey, Kathleen Sylvia and her husband William of Hanson and Patricia Dembrowsky and her husband John of Stoughton. Devoted Nana to Lindsay, Ryan, Jennifer, Andrew, Jacob, Noah and Ethan. The only child of Rosanna Saville Calhoun (who died in childbirth) and the late James Calhoun, Rose was raised in the unconditional love of her father and his extraordinary late wife Kathleen. Devoted sister to the late Margaret McKeough and her husband James, James Calhoun and his wife Patricia, Kathleen Eaton and her husband Richard, Joan Girard and her late husband Stephen, William Calhoun and his partner Ann. Adored sister-in-law of Fernanda Dias. Rose loved her twelve nieces and nephews, their spouses and children; her cousins; co-workers and many friends, especially her knitting partner, Christina Whitney.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Route 18 opposite South Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private.
