Rory Francis Condron

Rory Francis Condron, 31, passed away on August 21, 2018 in Weymouth, Massachusetts.  He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 25, 1987.

Rory grew up in Morristown, New Jersey and Hingham, Massachusetts.  He resided in New York City. Throughout his life, Rory personified the meaning of his Gaelic name: Red King.

He was the son of Karen Shields Condron of Weymouth, and Brian Condron of Hull, Massachusetts, and the brother of Benjamin Condron of Culver City, California.  He loved and was loved backed by his stepmother Martha Lydon of Hull, and his step siblings and niece and nephew, Taylor Lydon (Christine and Liam) of Weymouth, Emma Lydon Davey (Brian and Olivia) of Walpole, Massachusetts, and Tessa Lydon Clarke (Travis) of Boston.  He adored and was adored backed by his paternal aunt Tracy Condron (Shaun Brennan) of Boston, his maternal aunt Janet Shields Charlton (Richard, Rich, and Joanna Charlton Lewis) of Alexandria, Virginia.  Other aunts, uncles and cousins include: Cathy Condron of Hinsdale, Massachusetts; Betty Jones of Great Barrington; Massachusetts, Michael Grogan of North Adams; Massachusetts, Ryan Grogan of Bennington, Vermont, and Kate Shields of Dublin, California.  He was predeceased by his uncle, Dennis Condron of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, his aunt Cheryl and cousin Mike Grogan of North Adams.

Rory had a strong connection to Pittsfield through his parents and grandparents, Francis and Barbara Condron, and Jack and Barbara Shields.  Both the Condron and Shields families were prominent in Pittsfield and Berkshire County politics.

Rory graduated from Hingham High School and Northeastern University in Boston.  He spent his freshmen year at the University of Vermont but preferred to live and go to school in a big city.  Most recently he was in the field of financial analysis, having been employed first at Natixis Investment Managers and then BNY Mellon in Boston. He played hockey as goalie throughout his school years and leaves trusted and true teammates from his years at Northeastern.   Although Rory modeled his goaltending after Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils, he was fan of Boston’s sports teams and thrilled in watching the Northeastern Huskies capture their first Hockey East title in 28 years in 2016. He was a prolific reader, astute and very aware of the politics of his time, as well as a naturally-gifted artist.

Rory was laid to rest in a private service.  He will always be missed.
