Coates, Ronald E. of Westwood, MA formerly of Dorchester, MA and Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, passed away at his home after a brief illness on March 20, 2006. Beloved husband of Isabella G. (Russell) Coates of Westwood. Devoted father of Lisa A. Burrows (William) of Pembroke, Heather L. Montalto (Paul) of Westwood, Krista M. Provenzano (Kenneth) of Plymouth, and Scott R. Coates and his fiancee Ann M. Fischer of Rockland. Cherished “Papa” of Brittany, Jillian, Mikayla, Eric, Maxwell, Matthew, and Marissa. Loving brother of Helen Babineau of Hampton, N.B. and the late Doreen Beechin, Allison and Murray Coates. Dear brother-in-law of Pauline Coates of Saint John, N.B. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass this Friday, March 24, at 10:00 AM at St. Gregory’s Church in Dorchester, MA. Visiting hours are Thursday, March 23 from 4 to 8 PM at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Wollaston/Quincy. Burial will be at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ron may be made to American Cancer Society – Boston, Central New England Region, 18 Tremont St., Suite 700, Boston, MA 02108. Ron, originally from Canada, was educated at Saint John High School in New Brunswick. He loved to travel, go on cruises, go to concerts and Broadway shows. Ron was a family man and loved being with his family. Ron was a member of the Westwood Senior Men’s Club.
