Ronald A. Sharland

Mr. Ronald A. Sharland, of Weymouth, died December 18, 2018.

Ron was employed as a machinist for the Boston Herald for 40 years. He was a member of the Weymouth Lodge of Elks, always enjoyed both watching football and taking cruises. Ron was a Korean War veteran serving with the United States Army.

His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him. Husband of the late Dorothy F. (Singleton). Father of  Brian Sharland of Texas, Teresa Clark and her husband, Joseph, of N. Chelmsford, Ronald Sharland, Jr of Riverside, CA, Kevin Sharland and his wife, Karen, of Carver, Renee Sharland and her fiancee, Peter Pillitteri, of Kingston, Jean Soul and her husband, Joseph, of Kingston, Daniel Sharland and his partner, Lynn Shumaker, of Southbridge,  Loren Sharland  and her partner, Ed Ford, of Weymouth. Brother of Shirley English of Malden, Paul Sharland of Weymouth, and the late Sonny Sharland, James Sharland, Ruth Cellucci, Fran Olson, and Elaine Shaw. Grandfather of Nicholas, Joshua, Emma, Heather, Kevin, Melissa, Erik, Joseph, Kaitlyn, Kristin, Samuel, Jacob, Daniel, Ronald, and Matthew. Great Grandfather of Benjamin, Jack, Luke, Layla, Dakota, Charli, Sadi, Dani, Finnegan, Veronica, Liam, Elizabeth, and the late Dylann Mary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital), Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
