Monteiro, Roger R. of Quincy, formerly of Cotuit, died Oct. 27, 2010. The beloved husband of the late Adelina ( Lopes) Monteiro. Son of the late John B. and Mary R. (Rogers) Monteiro. Cherished brother of Kathleen Walker of FL, Helen Perry of Falmouth, Dolores Gibbons of Allston and Ruth Monteiro of Cotuit and the late charlotte Barboza, Olivia Lobo, John Monteiro, Charles, Ernest, Frank and Dorothy Perry. Roger is also survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren. A proud W.W. II Army Vereran. Roger owned and operated R & A Auto Repair Business in the Boston area for many years. He was captain of the football team at Barnstable High School Class of 1941 and received the Gene Hinkle Trophy. He was one of the original players of the Cotuit Kettleers. Roger taught auto mechanics at Bourne Technical High School as wells a vocational school in Boston. Roger enjoyed the outdoors. He will be remembered as a quiet man with a loving heart who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday, November 1, 2010 from 8:30 to 9:30am in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY, followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy, Monday at 10am. Burial in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit. Donations in memory of Roger may be made to Parkinsons Disease Foundation, Church Street Station, PO. Box 780. New York, New York 10008 .
