Dwyer, Roger D. of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy Point, died November 8, 2017 at the age of 82.
He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Barbara F. (Kelly) Dwyer. Loving father of Dr. James E. Dwyer and wife Dr. Daurice of Weymouth and Debra M. Keough and husband Christopher of Pembroke. Brother of Shirley Richardson of Hanover and 12 other deceased brothers and sisters. Brother in law of Gary Thiessen and wife Ruth, David Smart and his late wife Kathleen, and the late Joseph Kelly and his wife Maureen, all of Weymouth. Devoted “Pa” of Sean, Erin, and Kiera Dwyer; and Derek and Kayla Keough. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Roger served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for 4 1/2 years. He worked as an engineer for Raytheon Corporation for 37 years and was a lifetime member of the Rockland Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed coaching Weymouth Senior Babe Ruth baseball and was also a hockey referee. Most of all, Roger loved attending his 5 grandchildren’s games and events. He was their biggest fan and cherished his role as a grandfather. Roger was faithful and dedicated to the church.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
