Roberta A. Saunders

Saunders, Roberta A. (Nelson) of Boston, died August 23, 2022. She was 74.  Roberta was born and raised in Boston to the late Robert and Alice (Riley) Nelson. She attended St. Patrick’s High School Roxbury Class of1965. Upon graduating high school, Roberta attended Northeastern University where she earned a Bachelors of Science and Nursing. 

Roberta worked for many years as a Nurse at The Carney Hospital. After retiring from nursing, Roberta worked as a funeral assistant at Sweeney Brothers Funeral Home. She enjoyed quilting and was an active member of the Secular Order of Discaled Carmelites. Roberta was a selfless and caring woman who will be missed by all.

Beloved Sister of James Nelson of California and Francis Nelson of Nevada. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by her cat Honey. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10:30. Burial in Holy Family Cemetery – Rockland.
