Robert W. “Bob” Keeley, 78, passed away December 13, 2020. Since 2002, Mr. Keeley was president and owner of cfm Communications, Inc. of Plymouth, Mass., publishers of Carriage News, a monthly trade newspaper serving the New England taxicab industry and of Carriage-News.com its associated website.
He was the former editor and associate publisher of CryoGas International magazine and was the long time editor of Microcontamination magazine. His publishing career also included more than 20 years as a news reporter and city editor for the Boston Record American and Boston Herald American. Mr. Keeley was the architect of a ground-breaking series of technical articles by Dr. Tadahiro Ohmi of Japan’s prestigious Tohoku University which introduced Japan’s total concept approach to ultraclean manufacturing technology to the worldwide advanced semiconductor manufacturing industry in the late 1980s. He later served as the chief editor of “The Ohmi Papers” which was published by Canon Communications, Santa Monica, Calif. in 1990.
He is survived by his wife Jean M. (Frankforter); three daughters, Pamela E. Lueck and her husband Christopher A. Lueck of Weymouth, Andrea J. O’Rourke and her husband Paul J. O’Rourke of Westwood and Kristin Stewich and her husband William C. Stewich of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Dr. Tyler J. Lueck of Brookline and Gabrielle Lueck of Weymouth, and Madelyn and William Stewich of Shrewsbury; three brothers, James of Scituate, Lawrence of Port Charlotte, Fla., Michael of Perkinsville, Vt and one sister, Mary E. Beatty of Bradenton, Fla. He was also the brother of the later Joseph F. Keeley, Jr. of Santa Clarita, Calif. and the son of the late Ann M. (Welch) and Joseph F. Keeley of South Boston and Quincy. He was also married for more than 20 years to the late Andrea L. (Capelotti) Keeley of Weymouth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 2-4 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be held on Friday at 4 PM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home and also live streamed on our website.
