Blaney, Robert William, a long time resident of Quincy, died peacefully on December 15, 2007, at the Guardian Nursing Home, Brockton, after living for many years with Alzheimers Disease. He was 69 years old. His passion in life was being husband to Mary (nee Lynch) with whom he shared 44 years of marriage, and being father to Joseph and his wife Jeanne (nee Gawlinski) of Rockland, and Father Robert of Saint Jerome Parish, Weymouth. Bob began working for Supreme Markets when he was 16 years old and continued with the same job until he retired from Stop and Shop in 2001. For a brief time he served in the US Army during peacetime. In his retirement, Bob loved time with his two grandaughters Stephanie and Sydney, and taking long walks with his dog Benjamin. In addition to his wife and children, Bob is survived by three sisters: Margaret Carey of Middleboro, Eleanor Piazza of North Attleboro, Joan Sy of Skowhegan, ME, and a brother Joseph of Milford. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Mann) Blaney of Dorchester. Also survived by 36 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Wednesday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Jerome’s Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Guardian Nursing Home Alzheimer’s Unit, 888 North Main St., Brockton MA 02301.
