Robert P. Swanson

Swanson, Robert P.”Swanny” of Quincy, died February 17, 2017. 

Robert was most proud of his wife Patricia and their 45 year marriage.  They traveled the world together. An adventurous soul, and he enjoyed meeting new people from around the world.  His trips took him to Latin America, Spain, Fiji, just to name a few.  Somewhat of a renaissance man he also enjoyed cooking for his family, photography, electronics, social events, and his Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.  Swanny enjoyed bicycling, good conversation and was a member of the South Shore Camera Club.  Robert is a U.S. Navy Veteran and a 21 year employee from Information Services with the Boston Globe.  He will be remembered for his intelligence, good nature, sense of humor, and helping his friends and family.  

Beloved husband of  Patricia (Gulizia) Swanson of Quincy.  Cherished son of the late Henry L. Swanson and Mary W. (Neilson).  Loving brother of Nancy Casinelli of Quincy, and the late Anne Marinelli, and John Swanson.  Uncle of Stephen Marinelli of W. Bridgewater, Nicole, Michael, and Eric Casinelli, all of Quincy.  Son in law of John & Juanita Gulizia of Quincy.  Brother in law of Anthony Gulizia of Quincy.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral service will follow at 8 PM in the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
