Robert M. Grigas Sr.

Grigas, Robert M. Sr., of Rockland, passed away January 11, 2018.

He fought a long tough battle of many illnesses and remained positive throughout for he loved his Family. Robert (Bob) was born in Boston on November 21, 1933 to the late Peter and Veronica Grigas, where he grew up in South Boston. He graduated from South Boston High School and furthered his education and attended Northeastern University. Robert (Bob) enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served several years aboard the U.S.S. Massey DD 778. When Robert (Bob) returned home he made his life long career in the Scaffold Industry working until his passing as this was his passion. Robert (Bob) loved Traveling mostly Cruises as he loved being on the water. He also enjoyed Snowmobiling, Fishing, Racing, Florida, Boating, the Beach, trips to the casino’s, but most of all spending time with his Family.

Beloved Husband of 60 years to Priscilla R. (Lawrie) Grigas of Rockland. Loving Father of Robert M. Grigas Jr. and his wife Pamela J. of Marshfield and Jennifer A. (Grigas) Sanborn and her husband Tyler of North Hampton, NH. Cherished and adored Grandfather to Robert M Grigas III and his wife Deborah, Jonathon Grigas, Whittaker Sanborn, Parker Sanborn and Nicole Kelleher. Dear Brother of the late Florence (Grigas) Knox, Joseph Grigas, and Edward Grigas. He will be missed by all those who had the honor and pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home 809 Main Street ( RTE 18 ) South Weymouth. The visiting hours are Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 PM. Wednesday a Mass will be held at 9:00 AM in Holy Family Church 403 Union Street Rockland. Burial immediately following at the Holy Family Cemetery Rockland. Memorial Donations made be made in Robert’s memory to: The United States Navy Memorial, 701 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20004.
