Barry, Robert M. “Bob” of Hanover, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully on September 28, 2010 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 56 years to Barbara (Laneau) Barry of Hanover. Devoted father of Richard Barry and his wife, Karen of Pembroke, MA and Paul Barry and his wife, Lynn of Pelham, NH. Cherished grandfather of Megan and Colleen Barry. Loving brother of Maureen Barry of Quincy, Francis Barry and his wife Marie of Wareham, Kathleen Collins and her husband James of Quincy, Richard Barry and his wife Patty of FL and the late Elizabeth, Joseph, Jack and Michael Barry. Brother-in-law of Ellen Barry of Braintree and Carol Barry of Milton. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Bob proudly served in the U.S Army during WWII. He worked as an electrician for over 40 years as a member of Local 103, IBEW and retired from the MBTA in 1996. Bob was active in the Boy Scouts for over 30 years, 20 years of which he was a Scout Master for Troup 19 in Quincy. He also enjoyed wood carving, fishing and spending summers at his cottage on Newfound Lake. He will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Friday, 4 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Saturday, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Animal Rescue Network of New England, P.O. Box 1053, Pelham, NH 03076, or Boston Minuteman Council, of the Boy Scouts of America, 411 Unquity Road, Milton, MA 02186.
