Robert L. Atkinson

Atkinson, Robert L. of Hingham, October 19, 2004. Devoted husband of Norma P. (Pereira), beloved father of Sara A. Fiotto of Hingham and the late Jennifer L. Atkinson. Brother of Bruce A. Atkinson of NH. Loving grandfather of Anna, Dean, and Laura Fiotto. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral in the Hingham Congregational Church 366 Main St. Hingham Saturday at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM from 3-7 PM. Cremation will follow. Mr. Robert Atkinson has been in the steel industry for many years. After graduating from Tufts University with a B.A. in Economics he served in the US Navy as LT.jg. for 3 years. Robert was the General Manager for Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc. from 1959 to 1990. During this time he also obtained his M.B.A. at Drexel University. Robert served on the Board of Directors of the Tufts University Jumbo Club since 1982, and as President from 1985-1986. Prior to coming to Hingham, Mr. Atkinson served on the Board of Directors for the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the Education Committee of Chamber and on the Board of Advisors, Indiana University-Prudue University at Indianapolis. Robert was an active member of the Hingham Tennis Club.
