Robert John Mitchell, Jr. of Plymouth, and formerly of Quincy, passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was 56.
Born in Boston, he was raised in the Wollaston neighborhood of Quincy and attended local schools. Robert graduated from high school with the Class of 1981. Following high school, Robert continued his education and obtained an apprenticeship to become a plumber. He later earned his a master plumber’s license and started his own company on the south shore. Robert was dedicated to his profession and working hard to support his family. He was a selfless person and always made sure that his services were affordable in the community he served.
The most important part of Robert’s life was his family. He loved his children more than anything and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for the people he loved. Robert was loving with a big heart. Regardless of how much money he had in his pocket, Robert would show up to someone’s home with a plate of food if he knew they were hungry.
Robert spent much of his time working, but in his spare time, he enjoyed swimming, especially at the beach.
Robert was a loving, straight forward, strong willed and determined person, who will be missed by all the lives he touched.
Robert was the beloved partner of Pamela MacEachern of Plymouth, with whom he shared many loving years. He was a cherished son of Claire R. (Conlon) Jordon of Canton and the late Robert J. Mitchell. He was also a cherished stepson of Elaine Mitchell of Florida. Robert was the devoted father of Joshua T. Sawtelle of Hingham and Brianne Collura of Ohio. He was the dear brother of Karen A. DiMillio of Beverly, Dennis P. Mitchell and his partner Rhonda Greenwood of New Hampshire, Kellie Mitchell of Canton, Kerrie M. Clarke of Grafton, Mark Jordan of Plymouth, Philip Arcieri and his wife Min and David Arcieri and his wife Sandy, all of Florida. Robert is also survived by his son’s mother and loving friend, Sundee Sawtelle of Hingham, many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, October 18th 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
His funeral service and interment will be held privately.
