QUINCY- Mullins, Robert J. “Moon” of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, a retired longshoreman, died on February 28, 2010 at the Marina Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Quincy. He was 89. Moon was born in Boston and raised in South Boston. He attended South Boston High School and Bentley College. During World War II, he served in the United Sates Coast Guard. He was a longtime member of the Martin F. McDonough American Legion Post 368 in South Boston. He worked as a longshoreman and was a member of the International Longshoremen’s Association, Local 800, serving as Treasurer for many years. The beloved husband of the late Mary A. (McKeon). Devoted father of Roberta Brodin of Weymouth. Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey R. Mullins of Dracut and Daniel Hannon of Holbrook. Loving brother of Claire P. English of Holbrook, Louise A. Quirk of Scituate, Joseph R. Mullins of Milton and the late Thomas J. Mullins, Marie C. Tradd and John T. Mullins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Friday 5 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Saturday, prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Moon may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368 .
