Robert J. Holthaus

Holthaus, Robert J. of Hingham, died September 10, 2013. 

Robert was a loving father who was kind and gentle. He was a graduate of Boston College High School in 1935 and received an Associates degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Lowell in 1966.  A Veteran of World War II, Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946.  He later worked for the MWRA, retiring after 42 years as Assistant Superintendent of the Sewer Division.

Beloved husband of the late Irene M. (Kelley) Holthaus. Loving father of Philip G. and his wife Elizabeth, Donald L., and Robert J., Jr. and his life partner Nancy Lampman. Brother of Paul Holthaus and his wife Mary Lou.  He is also survived by three grandchildren: Amanda F., Matthew C. and his life partner Jennifer Jasmine, and Damian P., and three great grandchildren: Sarah Finn, Matthew Young, and Chloe Barton and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30 PM.
