Robert Hibbett died on April 20, 2007 after an extensive illness. Robert was the second born son to William and Mary Hibbett, born May 25, 1931. Robert did his undergraduate degree at Boston College and graduated in 1953. He received his masters in English from the University of Massachusetts. After his schooling, he served two years in the US Army during the Korean War. After serving in the Korean War, Robert was a high school teacher in New Jersey. He retired in 1985, an then when on to teach English literature at a Cambridge University. He also spent most of his life researching and writing many papers including two unpublished books. His passion was researching and writing about the Irish culture. Robert is survived by one brother, Larry Hibbett of Naples FL, one deceased brother Bill Hibbett of Quincy MA and Sheila Murphy, a long time friend and four neices. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, April 26th 2pm in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Robert may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.Box 55584, Boston, MA 02205-5584
