Burke, Robert J. of Quincy, passed away April 6, 2012, at the age of 98. Husband of the late Adeline (Ambler) Burke. Devoted father of Angela Corey of Hingham and Robert J. Burke, Jr. of Quincy. Brother of the late John Burke, Esq., William Burke, Rita Cook and Helen Sheerin. Cherished grandfather of Alex Corey and Kelley & Justin Burke. Robert served proudly as a Staff Sergeant in World II. He was a graduate of Bentley College and worked as senior accountant for a publishing company in Boston. Robert enjoyed antiquing, fishing and as a young man skiing. When it was almost unknown to do so, he climbed Tuckerman’s Ravine and skied the his way down.But the true essence of his life was his family. He was the most loving and devoted father and husband. He gave them his unconditional love always. Robert will be sadly missed by all of them. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4/13 between 4 and 8 in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, located next to the Funeral Home on Sat 4/14 at 10 a.m. followed by a Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Assoc.311 Arsenal St. Watertown , MA.
