Robert J. Broadbent

Broadbent, Robert J. “Bob” of Quincy, passed away surrounded by his family on April 6, 2012 . Beloved husband of Sharon M. (Wahlberg) Broadbent. Loving father of Julie A. Broadbent of Quincy Brother of Jean Thompson and her husband, Fred of Pittsfield, NH, James Broadbent and his wife, Diane, of Durham, NH, and Thomas Broadbent, Donald Broadbent, and John Broadbent, all of Quincy. Brother-in-law of Al, Michael, Billy, Tommy and Johnny Wahlberg. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Best friend to both Steve Albanese and Keith Ferarra. Bob worked as an Engineer at AES Corp, Teradyne, Thornton and General Electric Aerospace Division . He also taught as an adjunct professor at Quincy College in the late 1990s. Bob earned several degrees including a BSET, Engineering Technology at Northeastern University in 1984, a MSSE, Systems Engineering from Boston University in 1990, and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2001. He completed the ABC program at MIT. Bob was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and also served on the BU Alumni Board. Bob was an avid learner and mentor to anyone in need. He loved camping, fishing, gardening, socializing and most recently, cooking. He loved his family most of all. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM.
