Robert “Bobby” J. Goggin of Abington, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on December 20, 2023. He was 66 years old.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Maurice and Ann Marie Goggin. Raised and educated in Dorchester he was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School. He enlisted into the Air Force and proudly served his country. He went on to work for the USPS as a Letter Carrier in Chestnut Hill and then at the General Mail Facility in South Boston. He was a basketball player in his youth, and a golfer and all-around sports lover for his whole life, who loved watching and talking football with his nephew Jake. Bobby had a lifelong passion for music, and spent his retirement working at concert venues and catching performances from stars and legends. Bobby will be remembered by family as a cherished presence at holiday gatherings and events. He always had a story to tell, and commanded any room with his booming voice and hearty laugh. He will be sorely missed.
Beloved brother of the late James F. Goggin and Jolie Woodford-Goggin of Braintree, Linda Goggin of Abington, Julie Goggin of HIngham, Karen Rasetta and her late husband Stephen of Abington, and Kristine Shaw of Marshfield. Cherished Uncle of Michelle, Katie and Jordan Goggin, Jacqueline Tracia, Kerri Van Natter, Blakeley and Michaela Shaw, Stephen, Justin and Jake Rasetta, and the late Laurie Goggin. Bobby will also be missed by many extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visiting hours on Wednesday 12/27 from 4-8 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service and burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne will be held privately.
