O’Shaughnessy, Robert J. “Bo” of of Marshfield, formerly of North Weymouth died August 24, 2022 at the age of 69. Although it was a short battle, Bo fought until the very end surrounded by his loving family. As his daughter put it, grief is the price we pay for love.
Bo grew up in North Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth North High School. He went on to work for New England Telephone and retired as a supply attendant from AT&T after 16 years of service. After retirement Bo became Mr. Mom to his three daughters. Although challenging, he enjoyed every moment. Bo was a great hockey player and especially loved being the goalie. He was the coach of Weymouth Youth Hockey for many years and involved in coaching private goalie clinics and even had a puck shooting machine at the house. He coached at NE College Development league, Marshfield High School, Thayer Academy and Fontbonne Academy amongst others. He was very proud of his players and their successes in the sport. Bo was an avid Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics fan.
Bo enjoyed family time at Humarock beach, family vacations in Harrison, Maine and traveling to Canada to visit his extended family. He enjoyed his daughters and granddaughters immensely and his many adventures with his nephews Ryan, Colin and Ian. If you knew Bo, you had a funny story to share of which there were many.
Beloved husband of 42 years to Judy (Ahern) O’Shaughnessy. Loving father of Megan O’Shaughnessy, Jillian Doherty and her husband Dan, Kelsey Wells and her husband Robbie all of Marshfield. Proud “Grampy” of Monroe Haen, Emerson and Bennett Doherty. Brother of Neil O’Shaughnessy of FL, Sheila Walter of CO, the late Joanne Clapp, Kathy Rawdon, Denise Mazzola, Jack O’Shaughnessy. Also survived by many neices, nephews and his late niece Erin O’Shaughnessy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).
