Bob died on Saturday after a long and heroic battle with cancer with his wife by his side. He loved his family and experienced the greatest joy of his life with them. As a patrolman, he became a member of Special Operations. He was an expert diver with the Boston Police Dive Team, a member of the Entry Team and a Motorcycle Patrolman. As Harbormaster, he hosted Mayor Menino, Governor Romney and Tom Ridge on one of the ships. While on the force, he earned his Masters degree in criminal justice. In December of 1998, he was presented with the Theodore Roosevelt Award honoring the officer who overcame to biggest obstacles, his battle with cancer, to return to work.Bob’s family would greatly appreciate donations in his memory, in lieu of flowers, to EIF’s National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA), 11132 Ventura Blvd., #401, Studio City, CA 91604.
