Robert J. Griffin

Robert J. Griffin, a man known for his quick wit and infectious laugh, passed away on November 29, 2024. Born in Cambridge and raised in Dorchester, Robert was a proud graduate of Boston Trade School. In 1977, he made the move to Weymouth, where he would eventually make his home a true reflection of his personality and craftsmanship.

Robert's career as an ironworker saw him lend his skills to various companies, where he was not only respected for his work ethic but also cherished for his ability to lighten the mood with his humor. His expertise extended beyond ironwork, as he was also adept in the repair of cranes and trash compactors.

Robert's home in Weymouth was his castle, a place he meticulously crafted to reflect his unique style and where he could indulge in his love for 50's music. Those who knew Robert would agree that "funny" is an understatement when describing his character. He had a rare ability to find humor in the mundane and could effortlessly bring a sense of lightness to any situation.

He was the beloved partner of Brenda Mahoney of East Bridgewater, who, along with his siblings James W. Griffin, Charles "Billy" Griffin, and Robina E. Fitzpatrick and her husband Michael, will miss him dearly. Robert's presence as a loving brother and uncle will be profoundly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Turnbull and Katherine Griffin.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 12/10/2024 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Wednesday 12/11/2024 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
