Cole, Robert G. of North Weymouth, formerly of Carver, died peacefully on March 6, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was 67 and died following a battle with cancer. Bob worked for McDonald Keohane Funeral Home for the past ten years where he was blessed with wonderful friends and was profoundly honored to help strangers suffering from the loss of their loved ones. Previously, he served as the Director of Toll Operations for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority.
Bob spent much of the last 18 months of his life caring for his beloved wife of 46 years Joanne Cole (Higgins), of North Weymouth, who predeceased him of cancer last May. Family, friends, neighbors, and dogs were the foundation of his happiness, and he was unconditional in his compassion and love for all who entered his life. His storytelling, sense of humor, and willingness to drive anywhere, anytime, to help those in need endeared him to family, friends, and strangers alike. Bob will be deeply missed.
Devoted father of Nathan Cole and his wife Kristen Binck of Dover, Matthew Cole and his wife Megan of Norwell and Joshua Cole of North Weymouth. Cherished Bob-O of Elin, Sailer, Grace, and Amelia. Predeceased by his parents, John H. and Elizabeth Cole (Manning) of North Weymouth and his brother John J. Cole of Jacksonville Beach, FL. Loving brother of Richard and Arlene Cole of North Weymouth, and Mary and Michael Brennan of North Weymouth. Brother-in-law of Patricia and Kenneth Gagnon of Westboro, Thomas and Anne Higgins of VA, Marylou Silverman and Paula Melanson of Bedford, Helen and Henry Pong of FL, Robert and the late Linda Higgins of East Weymouth, Kathy and Al Smith of Braintree, Eddie and Irma Higgins of VT, and Nancy and the late Jack O’Shaughnessy of Norwell. Also lovingly survived by 31 nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Jerome’s Church, North Weymouth, on Saturday at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, our Bob-O would have loved any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the New England Center and Home For Veterans or the Special Olympics.
