Doherty, Robert F. of Quincy, October 11, 2005. Husband of the late Rose “Ginger” (Wheeler). Loving father of Robert F. Doherty, Jr. and Rik Nuenighoff of Boston, Jack Doherty and Kerry of Saco, ME, Gail M. Doherty and Andy Valliere of NH, and Lynn and Dave Munroe of Marshfield. Brother of Raymond Doherty of Quincy and the late John,Thomas and David. Devoted grandfather of Jack Jr., Kerri, Erin, Dylan, and Cole Doherty, Jess and Kyle Munroe, and the late Rob Osten. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Saturday at 9AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, No. Quincy at 10AM. Visiting hours Thursday 6-8 PM and Friday 4-8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Mr. Doherty was born and raised in Quincy. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School where he played football and was entered into the NQHS Hall of Fame. He played semi-pro football for Quincy Alumni. Bob was the 1976 President of the Quarterback Club. He was also a former member of the BoSox Club. Mr. Doherty worked in the Insurance Industry since 1955, before opening his own Insurance Company , Doherty & White Insurance Co.in 1983. He was very proud of his family business, but above all he loved his Children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling.
