TODD, Robert E. – The Family of Robert E. Todd, of New Port Richey, Florida are saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, December 3, 2020 after a sudden, but brief fight with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Bob was born and raised in Squantum, Mass. and he was the second son of four boys. Bob graduated from North Quincy High School in 1956. His claim to fame was graduating second to last in his class along with being named, “Boy of the Year,” both of which were very important to him. Bob had a very full life and successful career despite his class rank proving you can achieve what you work hard for.

Bob was the ultimate salesman, first with Kwikset Lock Co. and then with ThermaTru Door Co. He flourished during his ten years at ThermaTru, where he was promoted to management and earned many awards.

Since Bob’s retirement in 1998, he had more time to concentrate on his golf game and played three days a week; never making the tour but he really did enjoy himself. Bob became an avid reader and always managed to “lose” his kindle during every vacation and at least two to three times a week while at home.

Bob “Red”, was a very proud U.S. Marine with a commanding presence. He was charismatic, grumpy, noble, kind-hearted, impatient, generous, and unwavering. Above all, he was a teacher. Bob’s biggest lesson to his children and anyone who would listen was to simply just show up. He showed up at school meeting, his children’s events, and at difficult times in someone’s life. Bob always showed up! He made time for everyone in his life, friends and family alike.

Bob is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Dorothy and their very special dog, Bella. His children include Dianne Stewart (Scott) of Taunton, Mass.; Deborah Hodgdon (Scott) of Stratham, N.H.; the late Michael Todd formally of Quincy, Mass., the late twins, Robert Todd and Robin Todd formally of Quincy, Mass., Stephen Todd (Linda) of North Andover, Mass.; Kelley Doucette (Tim) of Stratham, N.H., Dawn Toomey of Marlton, New Jersey and Deonne Evans of Lutz, Florida. Bob was so proud of his 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Like many of you, the family remains frustrated with the coronavirus and the restrictions that are now part of our daily life. We know that many of you will not be able to pay your respects in person and we welcome you to share your thoughts above for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name may be made to: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Humane Society of Marion County, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
