Robert E. Sabatini of Weymouth, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on February 3, 2024, he was 66.
Born in Boston on New Year’s Eve 1957, he was the son of the late Concetta and Alfred Sabatini.
Bob grew up in Quincy and was a proud member of “Elm Street University.” He graduated from Quincy High Votech. Culinary School and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal and Served overseas at the Yokasuka Naval Base in Japan.
Bob had the honor of representing the U.S. Marine Corps to wrestle the most famous sumo wrestler at that time, Takamiyama Daigoro on Japanese National television.
When Bob returned from active duty, he met and married the love of his life, Lisa Sacchetti. They were devoted to one another and had a long and loving marriage of 40 years. During this time Bob pursued a career in plumbing. He was a licensed plumber and licensed water distribution operator. He was employed by the City of Quincy Water Department and retired In 2018.
Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and a very soft heart. He always tried to lift everyone’s mood with a joke or funny impression. He was a humble and kind man.
Bob was an avid reader and U.S. history buff. Trying to beat him in a game of trivia was nearly impossible. He found peace in the great outdoors where he loved camping, hiking and canoeing. He had many other hobbies which included gardening and woodcarving.
Bob was a member of the VFW, North Parrish Militia 1775, Sons of Italy, Local 1139, Quincy Chamber of Commerce, and Braintree Gun Club.
Beloved husband of Lisa (Sacchetti) Sabatini of Weymouth. Loving brother of Diane Volpe and her husband Luciano of Westwood and the late Alfred J. Sabatini. Cherished brother-in-law of Anthony Sacchetti of Weymouth Sandra Sacchetti-Strong of Quincy, Cheryl Kelly of South Carolina, Stephen Sacchetti of Rockland, Michele Milisi of Boston, Michael Sacchetti of Quincy and David Sacchetti of Weymouth. Adored uncle by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy on FRIDAY FEB 16, 2024 at 12:30PM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
