Robert E. Morris

Robert E. “Bob” Morris of Weymouth, died February 12, 2021 at the age of 89.

Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War and in 2017, he was awarded the Ambassador of Peace Medal for that service.  He graduated from North Quincy High School and Northeastern University.  Bob worked as an auditor for the US Department of Defense for decades. He served as an usher at St. Albert’s Church. He was an active member of the Weymouth Elks and enjoyed Friday nights there with his comrades. Bob was genuine, humble and had a great sense of humor. He could say a lot by saying a little and developed friendships easily. Most of all, Bob loved his family and cherished his role as a father and grandfather.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Jane (Martin) Morris for 58 years. Loving father of Karen Morris of Weymouth and Mary E. Morris of Braintree. Devoted “Grampy” of Eva and Zachary.  Brother of the late Edward Morris and the late James Morris. Brother-in-law of Robert Martin of Pembroke and Jane Martin of Weymouth. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially the large Morris clan who he adored.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with Robert’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message by clicking the link above.
