Robert E. Lynch

Lynch, Robert E. “Bobby” of Hingham, formerly of Quincy, passed away October 21, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Bobby adored his family, especially his daughters. He was raised with strong family values that he passed onto them. He loved the ocean, boating, fishing, and traveling to Cape Cod and Florida. Bobby also loved to read non-fiction and was very interested in sharks and marine life. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox. He was a pipefitter with the Local Union 537 for 27 years and his family is eternally grateful for their generosity and support. Bobby will be remembered for his sense of humor and his tireless work ethic. He maintained his strong and stoic nature throughout his illness and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Beloved husband of 22 years to Linda (Miceli) Lynch of Hingham. Devoted father of Bridget, Cassie, and Sheila Lynch of Hingham. Loving son of Mary “Pat” and the late John Lynch of Quincy. Cherished brother of Kathy Gangitano and her husband Carl of Stoughton, Kevin Lynch and his wife Rene of Weymouth, and Dennis Lynch and his wife Maureen of Hingham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  The Lynch Family would like to thank South Shore Hospital (Emerson 6), South Shore VNA, and The Pat Roche Hospice nurses and staff.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass Wednesday in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 12 PM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. The Lynch family would like to extend their gratitude and invite all family and friends to a Celebration of Life gathering at Raffael’s at the South Shore Country Club from 2:30-6 PM.
