Robert E. "Bob" Davis

Robert E. “Bob” Davis, of Weymouth, formerly a longtime resident of Hingham, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 2, 2024. He was 76.

He was born in Quincy to Anne C. (Urquhart) and Howard Davis and raised on the South Shore. He graduated from Scituate High School and went on to earn his master’s degree in accounting. From there he had a long-distinguished career as an accountant and a college professor at Northeastern University and settled in Hingham with his family.

In his spare time, Bob enjoyed time spent with family. He was an avid boater with a slip in Scituate Harbor. If he had the time and the right weather, Bob was on the water. He was an unwavering Boston sports fan, spending many summer nights at Fenway Park and winter evenings at the Garden cheering on the Bruins. 

Bob had a great sense of humor that made him fast friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Beloved husband of 53 years to Sheila Davis (Murphy) of Weymouth. Devoted father to Stephanie Davis of North Attleboro, Brian Davis and his beloved Jennifer Elgin of Denver, CO, and Michelle Davis. Adoring grandfather to Samantha Davis of Weymouth. Predeceased by his parents, Anne C. (Urquhart) and Howard Davis and his siter, Judith Rennie.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, September 6th, from 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday, September 7th prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.
