DeFranco, Robert of Quincy, formerly of Roxbury, passed away January 5, 2013. Beloved husband of Claire (York) DeFranco of Quincy. Loving father of Robert Y. Haley and his wife Conni of Randolph. Cherished “Papa” to Gena, Gillian, and Robert D. Haley of Randolph. Brother of Mary Casey of Peabody and uncle to Sean Casey and Colleen Pepe. Robert grew up in Roxbury and was a graduate of the Boston Technical High School. His life revolved around his family and he cherished every moment with them. Mr. DeFranco was the owner and longtime operator of the Galway House Restaurant on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, retiring in 2010 after over thirty years of ownership. His other passion was his boat the “3 C’s” which he kept at Marina Bay in Quincy. He and his wife also enjoyed winters in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for the past 30 years. He will be remembered as feisty, charismatic, and above all else, tenacious. He will be missed by his loving family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Donations in memory of Robert may be made to VNA Hospice Care, 100 Trade Center, Ste G-500, Woburn, MA 01801-1872.
